Tough Final Hole for Kelly Cavanaugh
As I was waiting for the second round of the US Women’s Open to finish on Saturday, I started following a group that included a young woman by the name of Kelly Cavanaugh. She was an attractive girl who had a build similar to that of my sister and since my sister was unable to join me at the tournament, following her might be some sort of substitute.I followed her through the final three holes, as she hovered around the cut line. I figured the cut would be +5 or +6, and Cavanaugh sat right at +6. On the final hole of her round (Hole #9) she put her drive in the right side rough. From there she proceeded to have some minor difficulty getting the ball all the way to the green and then, ultimately, missed a put for par, leave her with a score of +7. The cut line turned out to be +6. I tried to do a Google search for her to put a picture with this post, but the only thing I could find is this picture from her Future’s tour bio.
I was rooting for Kelly to make that put on Saturday and if I see her name on the leaderboard in the future, I’ll be rooting for her then too. Good luck Kelly, you almost had it..
